Academic Staff – Cybersecurity (Teaching & Research)

About the role

The university is establishing a modern cybersecurity capability that blends applied learning, competency‑based education, translational research, and strong industry partnerships. It seeks outstanding candidates to join as academic staff—both faculty and professional officers—to teach, mentor, and conduct research in cybersecurity, with a particular focus on Threat Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and continuously improve cybersecurity curricula that meet academic rigour and industry relevance.
• Lead or contribute to translational research projects in collaboration with industry partners.
• Develop hands‑on, real‑world learning experiences, including labs, cyber ranges, and work‑study programmes.
• Provide technical expertise to embed current and emerging industry practices into teaching and research.
• Mentor students and junior staff, fostering industry‑ready competencies.

Required profile

• Strong academic credentials or substantial professional experience in cybersecurity.
• Demonstrated ability to translate technical expertise into rigorous teaching and applied scholarship.
• Experience working with industry, government, or operational cyber‑defence teams is highly valued.
• Commitment to competency‑based education and collaborative research.
