Automation Engineer – Manufacturing Systems

About the role

Infineon is looking for a proactive Automation Engineer to join its manufacturing team. You will ensure the stability and performance of automation systems and equipment, using data‑driven insights to improve uptime and drive the rollout of advanced technologies from proof‑of‑concept to full production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve stability and performance of manufacturing automation systems and equipment.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and implement equipment improvements to meet utilization and uptime targets.
• Conduct data analysis and develop data‑driven solutions for daily operational challenges.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs for systems and equipment.
• Support cross‑functional projects, guiding automation solutions from PoC through production rollout.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience with robotics or manufacturing automation systems.
• Hands‑on experience with robots, autonomous mobile robots, and overhead transportation systems.
• Knowledge of programming (preferably Python) and data‑visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.
• Experience collaborating on cross‑functional projects.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with good communication skills.
