Design Manager – Workplace Projects

About the role

Apple’s Workplace Design Team is looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead the design vision for workplace projects across the Asia Pacific region. You will oversee design elements from concept through completion, ensuring they align with Apple’s brand, values, and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the internal design approval process at multiple project phases.
• Accountable for the success of all design partners on the project team.
• Review and comment on design and construction documents to ensure compliance with standards and develop unique conditions when required.
• Guide design direction, make timely decisions, and detail project specifications including materials, furniture, and systems.
• Oversee the quality and coordination of documentation from consultants.
• Maintain open dialogue with internal stakeholders, cross‑functional partners, and external parties to meet schedule and budget targets.
• Coordinate prototypes, mock‑ups, and samples, providing feedback.
• Organise, update, and archive all project design deliverables.
• Share lessons learned and contribute to the development of standards and guidelines.
• Travel to project sites and mock‑up locations as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of professional experience with strong leadership abilities.
• Proven design management experience in corporate or workplace design environments, working with internal and external cross‑functional teams globally.
• Exceptional ability to develop and communicate compelling designs and implementation strategies.
• Portfolio of work demonstrating design excellence.
