Director Cost Engineering

About the role

The LEGO Group is seeking a Director of Cost Engineering to lead enterprise‑wide cost‑management initiatives. Based in Singapore (or Billund), you will shape the global should‑cost, cost transparency and value‑engineering capabilities that drive commercial performance, supplier negotiations and product affordability.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a global Cost Engineering strategy aligned with procurement and business objectives.
• Build a long‑term capability roadmap covering tools, data, operating model, governance and talent.
• Lead an agile team of cost engineers, deploying resources based on value and risk.
• Embed should‑cost and cost‑transparency methods into sourcing and category‑management processes.
• Provide fact‑based cost intelligence, market insights and automated dashboards for category leaders.
• Partner with procurement leaders to set yearly cost‑efficiency roadmaps and support strategic sourcing activities.
• Drive lean manufacturing and operational cost improvements across suppliers.
• Liaise with external experts to develop AI‑enabled, data‑driven cost‑engineering capabilities and implement digital costing platforms.

Required profile

• Qualified Engineer with at least 10 years of professional experience.
• Proven leadership of cost‑engineering or similar functions in a global, multi‑category environment.
• Strong understanding of procurement, finance and manufacturing cost structures.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving cross‑functional initiatives.
