Director – Credit Risk Manager

About the role

The bank is looking for a seasoned Director to shape and execute credit risk strategies for its unsecured consumer lending portfolio. This senior leadership position will drive sustainable growth through data‑driven risk management, advanced analytics, and robust governance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimise end‑to‑end credit risk strategies across acquisition, underwriting, line management and collections.
• Develop and maintain risk frameworks covering credit policy, score cut‑offs, affordability, loan sizing, pricing and risk segmentation.
• Leverage AI/ML, alternative data and advanced analytics to improve credit decisioning, fraud detection, customer segmentation and portfolio monitoring.
• Oversee portfolio performance analytics, including origination, delinquency trends and collections effectiveness.
• Lead the development, validation and governance of credit risk models (PD, LGD, EAD, behavioural scorecards).
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, Compliance and Operations to deliver scalable lending solutions.
• Provide strategic leadership on regulatory engagement, audit reviews, model governance and policy approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or Data Science.
• 10–15+ years of experience in consumer credit risk within retail banking, fintech or digital banking, with a focus on unsecured lending.
• Proven senior leadership experience in credit risk analytics or portfolio strategy.
• Deep knowledge of unsecured consumer lending regulations across Asian markets.
• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
