Group Controller – Finance Leadership Role

About the role

The Group Controller will act as the Deputy to the CFO, overseeing financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls for a multinational maritime company. Based in Singapore, the role ensures the integrity of group‑wide financial information and drives efficiency across finance functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly and annual close processes and prepare consolidated financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks across all entities.
• Oversee the end‑to‑end Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely vendor payments and robust procure‑to‑pay processes.
• Coordinate external and internal audit activities, resolve audit findings, and safeguard against financial and fraud risks.
• Monitor AP KPIs, drive performance improvements, and support automation initiatives.
• Lead a team of three direct reports (2 Accounting Managers, 1 AP Manager) and provide governance for Family Office activities.

Required profile

• Significant experience in group reporting and multi‑entity consolidation.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS.
• Proven experience managing Accounts Payable or shared services functions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead finance teams and act as a strategic partner to senior leadership.
