Legal Counsel – APAC Maritime Law

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel (or Senior Legal Counsel) to provide expert maritime legal advice across the APAC region for CMA CGM. The role supports day‑to‑day operations, strategic projects and dispute management, working closely with internal teams and external counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate maritime‑related agreements with customers, vendors and partners.
• Advise on contentious matters such as idle full management, detention, demurrage recovery and non‑insured disputes.
• Support daily maritime business operations and provide legal input on cargo transport aspects of business development projects.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsels and coordinate their work.
• Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the manager.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor and/or barrister in Singapore (preferred).
• 5–10 years post‑qualification experience in a law firm or in‑house setting.
• Strong commercial background with proven expertise in maritime law and contract negotiation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personalities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
