Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET/CT)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform PET/CT imaging and hot‑lab duties in a fast‑paced diagnostic centre. The successful candidate will ensure high‑quality examinations, maintain radiation safety, and provide compassionate patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and consent, adhering to irradiation policies for women of child‑bearing age.
• Perform PET/CT imaging procedures as requested, ensuring optimal image quality and correct labeling.
• Prepare radiopharmaceuticals in the hot lab, handle and administer them to patients safely.
• Process, print, and archive PET images for diagnostic interpretation and record‑keeping.
• Calibrate PET/CT scanners, dose calibrators and related equipment; conduct area monitoring and swipe tests.
• Order, receive, and record daily and monthly radiopharmaceutical supplies.
• Maintain documentation and comply with radiation safety procedures and SOPs.
• Provide clear explanations to patients, manage anxiety, and ensure their physical and emotional well‑being.
• Collaborate with reception staff to minimise patient waiting times and coordinate appointments.
• Consult physicians when uncertainties arise to avoid repeat examinations.

Required profile

• Clinically competent in a range of nuclear imaging services.
• Commitment to continual self‑education on new imaging technologies and procedures.
• Ability to follow strict SOPs for radioactive material handling and radiation protection.
• Strong attention to detail and patient‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Operation of PET/CT scanners.
• Radiopharmaceutical preparation and administration.
