Part‑Time Middle School Spanish Teacher

About the role

UWCSEA is seeking a part‑time teacher to deliver Spanish Language B classes for Middle School students (Grades 6‑8) at its Dover Campus, starting August 2026. The role involves teaching beginner to intermediate levels and may include occasional Primary classes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Spanish lessons that align with UWCSEA Learning Principles.
• Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Contribute to the collaborative culture of the Spanish department and the wider Middle School team.
• Maintain effective classroom management, supporting academic, social and emotional learning.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student achievement.
• Participate in the Home Languages Programme (HLP) and broader UWCSEA educational activities.

Required profile

• Internationally recognised teaching qualification and a degree with a specialisation relevant to Spanish language instruction.
• Proven experience teaching Spanish to students aged 11‑14, with the ability to teach Primary and/or High School levels.
• Commitment to UWCSEA’s five key educational elements: Academics, Activities, Outdoor Education, Personal & Social Education, and Service.
• Willingness to engage in professional learning, advisory groups, and extracurricular activities.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Spanish (both spoken and written).
• Effective classroom management techniques.
• Ability to design concept‑based, differentiated learning experiences.
