Senior Specialist, Sponsorships

About the role

Mastercard’s Asia Pacific Sponsorships team is looking for a Senior Specialist to manage and activate its diverse sponsorship portfolio across sport, entertainment, music, travel, art, culinary, philanthropy, shopping and environmental initiatives. The role will work closely with regional and local Mastercard teams, agencies and external partners to deliver high‑impact experiences that drive brand value and business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee flawless execution of sponsorship assets, including events, physical and digital experiences, and brand ambassadors.
• Manage sponsorship packages sold to markets, ensuring end‑to‑end delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Maintain compliance using tools such as Spotlight and Vivo, adhering to regulatory, data‑privacy, legal and ethical standards.
• Update asset lists and requirements in customer‑facing marketing portals.
• Support sourcing and legal teams with paperwork for onboarding new assets, ambassadors and influencers.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end activations at sponsorship events with internal teams or agency support.
• Track monetisation of sponsorship assets, measuring and reporting credits accurately.
• Handle merchandise requests from markets, including signed memorabilia.
• Manage budgets for sponsorship‑related marketing programmes, monitor spend and recommend corrective actions.
• Report regularly on campaign performance, evaluate results and propose improvements for future programmes.
• Provide strategic advice based on deep understanding of category and ecosystem relationships.
• Direct and coordinate deliverables with agency partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large, cross‑functional projects that involve collaboration with marketing and non‑marketing stakeholders.
• Strong background in sports, entertainment or related sponsorship environments.
• Ability to work with compliance tools and adhere to regulatory and ethical guidelines.
• Excellent organizational and budget‑management skills.
• Analytical mindset for performance measurement and reporting.
