Staff Nurse

About the role

The Staff Nurse will support International SOS medical services on client project sites, delivering clinical care, emergency response and occupational health support to contractors and site personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, treat and follow‑up minor illnesses and injuries; provide emergency and trauma care, including mass‑casualty management.
• Administer medications, perform basic life support, airway management and use of AEDs and ventilators.
• Maintain readiness, cleanliness and supply levels of medical facilities, ambulances and equipment.
• Monitor occupational health risks, hygiene standards and fitness‑for‑duty of personnel; support disease‑prevention and PPE awareness.
• Conduct first‑aid/CPR training and coordinate emergency drills and simulations.
• Perform patient assessments, manage evacuations, provide on‑site care such as haemorrhage control and immobilisation, and keep accurate medical records in SOAPE format.
• Participate in developing and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace and comply with all OH&S policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of ward experience in a General Ward, Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit.
• Registered Nurse qualification (SNB).
• Valid BLS certification.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional language skills are a plus.
• Willingness to travel and adapt to short‑notice assignments.

Required skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Proficiency in emergency and trauma care, including AED and ventilator operation.
• Patient assessment and differential diagnosis.
• Medical documentation using the SOAPE format.
