About the role
Singapore Polytechnic is seeking a Lecturer in Facilities Management for its School of Architecture & the Built Environment. The role involves teaching diploma and higher‑level students, developing curriculum, and engaging in consultancy projects, particularly in smart facilities management.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials and assessments for facilities management modules.
- Create and update teaching and assessment materials.
- Mentor and guide students in their academic and professional development.
- Develop and maintain curriculum for subjects such as safety, asset enhancement, BIM, data analytics and sustainability.
- Apply effective pedagogy to facilitate learning.
- Undertake consultancy and applied research projects with internal and external stakeholders, especially in smart facilities management.
Required profile
- Relevant qualifications in built‑environment disciplines.
- Professional experience in facilities management, including planning preventive, routine and predictive maintenance of building systems.
- Knowledge of building‑systems integration, optimisation and digital/smart solutions.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students.
- Self‑driven, independent yet able to work collaboratively.
- Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills.
- Additional certifications such as Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer, Certified Green Mark Professional or Certified Fire Safety Manager are an advantage.
