Market Trade Surveillance Specialist – AVP

About the role

The Market Trade Surveillance Specialist – AVP will act as the FX subject‑matter expert for the APAC region, supporting the Global FX Book of Work and ensuring robust surveillance of foreign‑exchange trading activities. This role combines regulatory expertise, analytical skills, and stakeholder collaboration to protect the firm from market abuse.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and roll out FX surveillance models, advocating for APAC enhancements.
• Drive daily FX operations in APAC, train analysts, identify risks and produce escalations while meeting service‑level agreements.
• Engage with external regulators and auditors on FX‑related matters across APAC.
• Collaborate with internal IT, Compliance and Front‑Office teams on surveillance issues.
• Support global audit and regulatory reviews with accurate information and analysis.
• Contribute to enterprise data‑management initiatives, providing APAC‑specific data expertise.
• Build and maintain a resilient talent pipeline for FX alert reviews in the region.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in trade surveillance, focusing on foreign‑exchange procedures.
• Strong knowledge of market‑abuse and market‑manipulation regulations as they apply to surveillance controls.
• Previous experience in global markets trade surveillance or related compliance, trading, or market functions.
• Understanding of trade flow from order to execution and the supporting technology.
• Ability to work independently, manage projects and meet deadlines.
