Regional Tax Specialist (Finance)

About the role

Nomura is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its regional tax team in Singapore. Reporting to the Regional Head of Tax, you will provide tax compliance and advisory support across the Global Markets space for the Asia‑Pacific wholesale banking business.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tax advisory on new products and transactions for IWM, Equities, IBD, Credit and other wholesale lines.
• Respond to tax enquiries from business units and corporate tax functions.
• Compute tax provisions, deferred tax and monitor Fin48 positions.
• Review and approve income tax returns and GST/VAT filings.
• Lead tax projects to implement new tax rules and policies.
• Collaborate with Finance Control, Product Control, Legal, Compliance and Operations.
• Support transfer‑pricing calculations, review local TP files and provide policy guidance.

Required profile

• 10+ years of tax experience in an international accounting firm or financial institution.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Knowledge of corporate tax, indirect tax and transfer‑pricing principles for the APAC region.
