Remote Mechanical Engineer (Contract)

About the role

Mercor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support AI research labs on a fully remote, contract basis. You will work independently and asynchronously, collaborating with research teams to solve mechanical challenges that enable advanced machine learning systems.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical engineering issues that impact AI lab research.
• Create tasks and deliverables for common mechanical requests.
• Contribute expertise to improve machine learning infrastructure.
• Work independently to meet deadlines while collaborating with AI research teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• PhD or at least 4 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Excellent written communication with strong grammar and spelling.
• Immediate availability to start.
