Senior Assistant Director / Deputy Director, Career Development & Transition

About the role

The Senior Assistant Director/Deputy Director will lead the Career Development and Transition (CDT) team within the Workforce Development cluster, helping public officers build career resilience and navigate job changes across the Public Service.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and guide public service officers through career life stages, identifying interests and supporting planning.
• Manage high‑touch cases end‑to‑end, facilitating complex career transitions and job placements.
• Serve as Coach Buddy, mentor new coaches, and uphold standards of the Public Service Career Coach Network (PSCCN).
• Facilitate annual Coach Learning sessions and support Brown Bag events to raise awareness of career coaching.
• Support delivery of Whole‑of‑Government (WOG) Career Development programmes, including the CareerFitness foundational programme.
• Co‑facilitate Train‑the‑Trainer sessions and guide external and in‑house trainers.
• Provide advisory support to review and enhance career development programmes and develop supervisory coaching training.
• Review the Public Service Retiree Network to integrate alumni initiatives and support workforce needs.
