Adjunct Lecturer – Precision Engineering

About the role

The School of Applied Science is seeking an Adjunct Lecturer to teach Precision Engineering topics. You will create and deliver courses in Precision Machining, CAD, Metrology and Industry 4.0, while fostering industry collaborations and mentoring students.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver curriculum for Precision Machining, CAD, Metrology and Industry 4.0 for pre‑employment and continuing education programmes.
• Lead applied R&D and industry‑collaboration projects, particularly in CNC machining and smart‑manufacturing.
• Mentor and supervise student projects, providing academic and career guidance.
• Prepare lesson plans, assessments and engage students in practical learning activities.
• Support administrative and operational tasks of the School as needed.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum three years of industry experience in manufacturing or precision engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to translate real‑world engineering practice into classroom teaching.

Required skills

• CNC machining (turning and milling).
• Computer‑Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM).
• IoT applications in a manufacturing environment.
• Metrology and measurement systems (CMM, vision systems, 3D scanners).
• Programming in at least one language such as Python, Java or MSSQL.
