Assistant Professor – Biochemistry

About the role

The Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine seeks an Assistant Professor to build and lead an independent research programme focused on RNA biology, RNA interference, microRNA, siRNA and post‑transcriptional gene regulation, with an emphasis on cancer biology and precision therapeutics.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead a cutting‑edge research programme investigating RNA regulatory mechanisms and their link to cellular metabolism and cancer.
• Design and execute innovative projects integrating molecular biology, genomics, transcriptomics and functional genomics.
• Secure competitive national and international research funding and manage research budgets.
• Recruit, supervise and mentor research fellows, assistants, graduate students and other laboratory personnel.
• Develop interdisciplinary collaborations with NUS, CSI Singapore, healthcare institutions, clinicians and industry partners.
• Publish high‑impact findings, present at international conferences and contribute to scientific advisory panels.
• Ensure compliance with biosafety, ethical and regulatory requirements and oversee laboratory operations.
