Assistant Technical Manager

About the role

The Assistant Technical Manager supports the Technical Manager in overseeing design coordination and technical management for construction projects. This role ensures that design deliverables meet authority regulations, client expectations, and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of Design/Coordination Engineers to align design drawings with consultants and regulatory requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison between consultants, clients, contractors, and authorities on all design‑related matters.
• Guide the preparation of technical submissions such as shop drawings, material approvals, and method statements.
• Coordinate and track submission processes to local authorities to secure approvals.
• Resolve design and technical issues during construction by collaborating with architectural, M&E, and consultancy teams.
• Manage technical queries by issuing Requests for Approval (RFA) and Requests for Information (RFI).
• Initiate and evaluate value‑engineering proposals to improve cost‑effectiveness, safety, constructability, and quality.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in construction or engineering consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, authority regulations, and construction methodologies.
• Independent, analytical, highly motivated with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Certification in “Design for Safety for Professionals” is an advantage.
