Backend Engineer – G&A Solutions Engineering

About the role

Apple’s IS&T G&A Solutions Engineering team is transforming a custom‑built system to a cloud platform. As a Backend Engineer you will design, develop, and maintain high‑performance services and integrations for SaaS/ERP systems used both internally and externally.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in an Agile team covering planning, design, implementation, and documentation.
• Develop distributed build and orchestration systems to improve deployment velocity and confidence.
• Implement observability, continuous delivery pipelines, and tooling that boost engineering efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers, QA, and project managers to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software development experience building enterprise‑grade backend platforms.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in multithreading, non‑blocking networking, HTTP and REST APIs.
• Deep knowledge of web service technologies such as JSON, SOAP, SSL, SAML, and WSDL.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Core Java and Spring framework.
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proven ability to design concurrent, scalable, fault‑tolerant components and optimize performance.
