Business Development Specialist – Retail & e‑Commerce

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Business Development Specialist to drive growth for our retail and e‑Commerce merchant partners in Singapore. You will work directly with merchants, building strong relationships and ensuring they get the most out of our platform.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular face‑to‑face visits with merchant partners in the assigned area.
• Follow the Area Manager playbook: plan visits, understand each merchant’s business, and deliver high‑quality interactions.
• Resolve merchant issues promptly or escalate to Product, Support, and Operations teams as needed.
• Train merchants on the Merchant App, self‑serve marketing tools, and the Insights portal to boost adoption.
• Collect merchant feedback, act as their voice within the company, and share best practices.
• Monitor KPIs such as engagement, satisfaction, product adoption, retention, and time‑to‑resolution.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in account management, business development, or field sales (F&B or e‑Commerce experience is a plus).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build trust in face‑to‑face settings.
• Problem‑solver, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable working with data and tracking performance metrics.
• Resilient, empathetic, and customer‑focused.
• Fluent in Chinese to communicate with Chinese‑speaking stakeholders and customers.
