Chief Architect – Enterprise & Solution Architecture

About the role

The Chief Architect will define and drive the technology and architectural vision for Thales' AIR Lab in Singapore, ensuring that all solutions align with business goals and support long‑term digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Define the overall technology and architectural roadmap, covering software, data, infrastructure and security.
• Govern technology stack decisions, organize architecture boards and approve tactical designs.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and lab leadership to balance feasibility, scalability and delivery speed.
• Identify systemic risks such as scalability bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities and vendor lock‑in.
• Mentor senior engineers and architects, building architectural capability across the lab.
• Represent the lab’s technology vision externally with customers, partners and research institutes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field.
• Master’s degree or further training in software architecture, distributed systems, cybersecurity or systems engineering is desirable.
• Extensive experience as a Software, Solution or Enterprise Architect on complex, distributed, data‑intensive systems, with accountability for architecture decisions across multiple teams.
