Chinese Chef

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare authentic, refined and innovative Chinese dishes.
• Specialise in premium and high‑end Chinese cuisine, with strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary cooking techniques.
• Ensure excellent taste, texture, aroma, presentation and consistency of all dishes.
• Develop and maintain recipes, cooking methods, plating standards and portion specifications.
• Recommend new premium ingredients and dishes that can enhance the restaurant's dining experience.
• Monitor food costs, portion sizes and ingredient usage.
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements.
• Maintain proper food storage, temperature control and handling procedures.
• Contribute ideas for premium dishes, set menus, festive promotions and special dining experiences that can support restaurant sales.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 – 8 years of relevant experience as a Chinese Chef, preferably in a premium Chinese restaurant, luxury hotel or fine‑dining establishment.
• Proven experience in premium and high‑end Chinese cuisine.
• Strong knowledge of Chinese culinary techniques.
• Experience working with premium ingredients and high‑value seafood, meat and dried seafood products.
• Excellent presentation, plating and portion‑control skills.
• Able to work under pressure in a fast‑paced, high‑end dining environment.
• Excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills.
