Cocoa Sustainability Assistant

About the role

The Cocoa Sustainability Assistant will support the delivery of GCB Cocoa’s Good Cocoa & Beyond programme, working closely with the Global Cocoa Sustainability Manager and project teams at origin. The role combines project coordination, communication, and stakeholder engagement to drive sustainable practices for cocoa farmers and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in writing and reviewing project proposals, reports and budgets, and monitor expenditures against targets.
• Support day‑to‑day project implementation, coordinate partners, and track key performance indicators.
• Prepare presentations, videos, brochures and social‑media content to communicate sustainability strategy to suppliers, customers and other stakeholders.
• Draft and review policies, update strategic documents and maintain programme databases.
• Contribute to new project ideas, identify funding opportunities and develop proposals.
• Liaise with trading, marketing and other cross‑functional teams to align sustainability commitments.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, donors, civil‑society organisations and industry bodies.

Required profile

• Experience in project management, including planning, coordination and delivery of initiatives.
• Financial management skills such as budgeting, expense tracking and reporting.
• Background in monitoring, evaluation and reporting, with ability to develop KPIs and analyse impact.
• Proven stakeholder engagement abilities and experience working with multicultural teams across time zones.
• Ability to multitask, balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with rural/agricultural project design in Africa, Asia or Latin America is desirable.
