Cybersecurity Engineer (SIEM/EDR/Cloud Native Security)

About the role

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join a public‑sector technology organisation. You will support security operations, engineering, and defence of government systems, focusing on SIEM, EDR, and cloud‑native security.

Key responsibilities

• Perform security reporting, dashboarding, compliance documentation and implement security controls.
• Validate VAPT findings, plan remediation and track vulnerabilities.
• Participate in threat modelling, security reviews and IAM periodic reviews.
• Support incident response, alert triage, investigation and escalation across SIEM, EDR and cloud platforms.
• Assist threat hunting, improve detection rules, incident playbooks and response runbooks.
• Apply security controls in CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, cloud environments and other technology platforms.
• Conduct security analysis of code and cloud environments, remediate findings and develop POCs.
• Automate security processes using Python, Bash or similar scripting tools.
• Collaborate with security, engineering, product teams and stakeholders to raise the overall security posture.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of relevant cybersecurity experience.
• Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture, secure system design, threat modelling and vulnerability management.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues and communicate effectively.
