Data Engineer, Ad Data

About the role

As a Data Engineer on the Ad Data team, you will help power the data foundation behind millions of advertising decisions on TikTok. You will own the technical vision for advanced ad data products, building and maintaining large‑scale, reliable data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers and operations to design data‑related products.
• Communicate with engineers, product managers and analysts to capture data requirements.
• Define, build, and launch new ETL processes in production.
• Maintain and support existing streaming and batch systems, handling on‑call incidents.
• Define and manage SLAs for allocated data sets.
• Work with data infrastructure teams to triage and resolve infra issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience in data warehousing, schema design, and dimensional modeling.
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining custom ETL pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with big‑data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, and Spark.
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python.
