Data Engineer

About the role

Rimes is seeking a Data Engineer to help build and modernise its data platform that powers the intelligence fabric for capital markets. You will work closely with the Data Engineering Team Lead to design scalable, reusable data pipelines and tooling that support high‑quality financial data ingestion and processing.

Key responsibilities

• Transform existing data platform and pipelines using modern technologies such as Snowflake and Databricks to improve scalability, performance and efficiency.
• Develop and extend tooling for seamless ingestion, quality assurance and automation of financial data workflows.
• Design and implement reusable, scalable data models that meet a wide range of business use cases.
• Participate in day‑to‑day engineering tasks including coding, code reviews and solution design, sharing best practices with the team.
• Identify and implement optimisations to reduce operational costs, minimise manual toil and increase reliability of data ingestion and pipeline support.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Product, Data Onboarding, Data Quality, Operations) to ensure technical solutions align with business needs.

Required profile

• Strong interest in financial data domains such as pricing, benchmarks, reference data and corporate actions.
• Hands‑on experience building data pipelines and working with cloud‑based data warehouses.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture without formal management responsibilities.
