Data Engineer – People Team (HR Data)

About the role

The People Team at Changi Airport Group is building a scalable HR data infrastructure. As a Data Engineer you will work closely with the People Data Architect to create a central “People Data Middle Layer” using Microsoft Fabric, enabling advanced analytics and AI for talent management.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the People Data Middle Layer on Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, consolidating HR data from multiple sources.
• Develop complex data pipelines and business logic using PySpark/Python and T‑SQL within Fabric scheduled pipelines and notebooks.
• Integrate core HR systems (SAP SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, Cornerstone OnDemand) via Azure API Management, flat‑file exports, and custom connectors.
• Model domain‑specific HR data, resolve mapping challenges, and create reliable semantic models.
• Maintain data governance with automated lineage, metadata management, and quality checks.
• Build semantic layers and data marts to feed Power BI for self‑service analytics.
• Enforce PDPA and internal security policies, applying encryption and strict access controls for sensitive data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering or related field.
• 4–8 years of data engineering experience, preferably on Microsoft Azure and Fabric.
• Strong understanding of HR data domains and ability to translate business rules into technical solutions.
