Data Scientist – Platform Safety & Integrity

About the role

Join TikTok's Integrity and Safety team as a Data Scientist and help protect millions of users worldwide. You will use data‑driven insights to improve content safety, account security, and privacy compliance across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core metrics and monitoring systems for content violations, user reports, and account risk.
• Develop anomaly‑detection pipelines and provide data support for risk alerts and policy adjustments.
• Apply statistical methods such as A/B testing, causal inference, and regression analysis to evaluate security policies and experiment outcomes.
• Collaborate with product, operations, R&D, and algorithm teams to translate analytical insights into actionable safety improvements.
• Create reusable analysis frameworks, tools, and data products that enhance the team’s analytical capabilities.

Required profile

• 2+ years of data‑science experience, preferably in internet or content‑platform safety.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, data science, economics, mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong logical thinking, problem‑solving abilities, and effective communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with Python and/or R.
• Data‑visualization expertise.
• Understanding of machine‑learning algorithms, causal inference, and A/B testing.
