DevSecOps Engineer (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Activate Interactive is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work closely with the Chief Information Officer and cross‑functional teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines, cloud operations, automation, monitoring, and security practices for government systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and SHIP‑HATS across development, UAT, staging and production environments.
• Implement secure deployment automation, including approval workflows, quality gates, audit trails, rollback procedures and release controls.
• Support cloud operations in AWS and GCC environments, handling infrastructure configuration, environment management and production support.
• Develop automation scripts, reusable pipeline templates, operational runbooks and deployment standards to improve consistency.
• Integrate security controls such as vulnerability scanning, dependency checks, secrets management, code quality validation and compliance checks into pipelines.
• Monitor application, infrastructure and pipeline health using enterprise monitoring tools, dashboards, alerts and log analysis.
• Coordinate release management activities and conduct root‑cause analysis for incidents, driving corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proactive, self‑motivated and resourceful with strong technical expertise.
• Experience collaborating with software engineers, cloud architects, security teams and product managers.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, government‑focused environment.
