Engineer – Testing & Laboratory Operations

About the role

Element is seeking an Engineer to join its rapidly expanding operations team. The role involves performing routine and non‑routine testing assignments, ensuring accurate and timely test results with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering leadership and support the development of new technologies within a local laboratory.
• Ensure accurate and timely release of testing data to customers, including sign‑offs of quality control data.
• Obtain guidance for non‑routine testing situations and oversee standard technical problem‑solving activities.
• Interact with customers on technical issues, answer questions and present testing results to stakeholders.
• Support business development opportunities with new or existing customers.
• Mentor novice technicians and engineers, assisting their professional development.
• Conduct examination and implementation of testing concepts and data, utilizing advanced testing methods and materials.
• Perform on‑site administrative work as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science degree in a science or testing‑related field.
• Minimum 2 years of post‑degree engineering experience or equivalent advanced qualifications.
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety and testing concepts.
• Ability to analyze and compile testing data and apply academic knowledge to business contexts.
• Proficiency in computer applications for data handling and reporting.
