Engineering Assistant – Manufacturing Process

About the role

The Engineering Assistant will support manufacturing equipment and processes, ensuring smooth production operations and continuous improvement. You will work closely with production operators, supervisors, and cross‑functional teams to minimise downtime and enhance product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty production equipment.
• Upgrade equipment hardware and control software.
• Identify and resolve process issues to improve quality and reduce scrap.
• Maintain and control equipment spare‑parts inventory.
• Install and qualify new processes and equipment.
• Support new program or model start‑ups.
• Assist with production overtime on weekdays, weekends, Sundays and public holidays.
• Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors and support groups.

Required profile

• Technical background in manufacturing or engineering.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude.
• Six Sigma Green Belt is advantageous.
