Forward Deployed AI Engineer – Build AI-native Enterprise Apps

About the role

As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer (T2) at SAP you will design and deliver production‑grade AI applications that solve complex business problems for our customers. You will work directly with clients, own technical workstreams and collaborate with architects to create secure, scalable, enterprise‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI‑native enterprise applications using modern software engineering practices.
• Develop AI agents with large language models (LLMs), Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), multi‑chain processing (MCP), tool calling and multi‑agent orchestration.
• Integrate solutions with SAP products, external APIs, databases and services.
• Deploy and operate applications on SAP AI Core, SAP Business Technology Platform, Kubernetes and public cloud platforms.
• Own customer‑facing technical workstreams and translate business requirements into working AI solutions.
• Create reusable frameworks, accelerators and reference implementations.
• Perform code reviews, mentor junior developers and optimise AI systems for performance, reliability, observability and cost.
• Collaborate with architects, product engineering and customer stakeholders to drive innovation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology or related field.
• 4–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python programming skills; experience with Java, TypeScript or JavaScript is a plus.
