General Technician – Gas Turbine Component Repairs

About the role

We are looking for a General Technician to carry out hand‑skilled processes and operate specialised machines and test equipment for gas‑turbine component repairs. The role reports to the Operations Leader and works on the shop floor to support production of high‑quality turbine parts.

Key responsibilities

• Blend and polish metal and coating surfaces to required specifications.
• Perform manual drilling during the cooling‑hole re‑opening process.
• Operate test equipment such as airflow, water‑flow and moment‑weighing devices.
• Run machines including robotic polishers, shot‑peening units and cold‑spraying systems.
• Maintain product quality, care for equipment, meet production output targets and follow housekeeping schedules.
• Comply with all EHS rules and promptly report unsafe conditions.
• Provide support to other areas as assigned.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education; a professional certificate or NiTEC in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Two years of relevant experience is desirable, but candidates without experience may be considered.
• Proficient in using pneumatic and powered hand tools.
• Basic command of English (spoken and written).
• Willingness to work rotating shifts.
