Group Tax Manager – 1 Year Contract

About the role

The Group Tax Manager (contract) will report to the Group Tax Director and support the year‑end compliance and audit cycle for a multinational group. This one‑year fixed‑term role covers tax compliance, budgeting and advisory work across entities in Asia‑Pacific and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve income tax, GST/VAT returns prepared by local finance teams or external advisors.
• Collaborate with local financial controllers to ensure timely filing and payment of tax liabilities.
• Manage tax queries and audits, escalating contentious issues to the Group Tax Director.
• Oversee monthly tax reporting, tax budgeting (including WHT and cash tax payments) and year‑end closing for in‑scope entities.
• Work with the Group consolidation team to integrate tax aspects into the group’s year‑end financial statements.
• Support business‑line CFOs and functional heads on tax implications of commercial transactions and deal structures.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy or equivalent; accredited tax practitioner qualification preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of corporate tax, GST/VAT, withholding tax and transfer‑pricing experience, preferably from a Big 4 or large MNC.
• In‑house tax experience in a fast‑paced, cross‑cultural environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of tax regimes in the covered countries and of tax accounting at group consolidation level.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills; ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
