In-House Counsel

About the role

We are seeking an experienced In‑House Counsel to join our legal team and provide comprehensive contract and commercial support across our construction and engineering projects. The successful candidate will act as the primary legal advisor, ensuring that all agreements are compliant, risk‑controlled, and aligned with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Operations, Finance and external partners to manage the full contract lifecycle, from drafting to close‑out.
• Lead the review, negotiation and finalisation of main contracts, vendor agreements and sub‑contracts, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with procurement and project teams to optimise contracting workflows and minimise commercial and legal exposures.
• Monitor contract milestones, project deliverables and compliance obligations, and resolve variations, claims or disputes.
• Provide strategic legal and commercial counsel on pricing, trade terms and tender evaluations.
• Support senior leadership and project teams with legal advice on project documentation, extensions of time, progress billing and expense claims.
• Assist commercial negotiations and dispute resolution, and develop recovery strategies for delayed projects.

Required profile

• Qualified legal professional, admitted to the Bar in Singapore or another recognised common‑law jurisdiction, in good standing.
• LL.B. or equivalent legal degree.
• 5–8 years post‑qualification experience, either in‑house or at a reputable law firm.
• Demonstrated expertise in commercial, trade and contractual matters within the construction or engineering sectors.
