Junior Animal Feed Assistant

About the role

The Junior Animal Feed Assistant supports the daily feeding operations at Singapore Zoo, ensuring that all resident animals receive nutritionally balanced meals in a safe and timely manner. You will work closely with animal care teams to align feeding schedules with health monitoring and will contribute to the zoo’s commitment to animal welfare. This role combines hands‑on food preparation with inventory management and occasional nutrition research.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update diets for a diverse range of animal species.
• Deliver prepared feed to the appropriate animal enclosures.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace and conduct food quality checks.
• Record inventory levels of animal feeds and assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
• Ensure proper labeling and storage of feed items according to safety standards.
• Assist in monitoring feed consumption and reporting any discrepancies.
• Support nutrition research projects as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by senior staff.

Required profile

• Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level qualification or higher.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays.
• Valid Class 3/3A driving licence is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
