Junior Associate – Capital Markets (India focus)

About the role

A&O Shearman is seeking a Junior Associate to join its Capital Markets group in Singapore, focusing on India‑related debt and equity transactions. The role offers exposure to cross‑border deals and the chance to work closely with partners and senior associates across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Support India‑focused debt and equity capital markets transactions, including Rule 144A/Reg S offerings, IPOs, QIPs, block trades and bond issuances.
• Draft and review transaction documents, offering memoranda and regulatory filings.
• Conduct legal research on Singapore, Indian, English and US law aspects of cross‑border deals.
• Coordinate with partners, senior associates and external counsel in Singapore and abroad.
• Manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced transactional environment.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in India, England & Wales and/or Singapore, or equivalent, with up to five years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrable experience in India capital markets, preferably gained in India or Singapore.
• Willingness to start by January 2027 at the latest.
• Strong drafting, analytical and legal research abilities.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and able to handle several matters simultaneously.

Required skills

• Experience with debt and/or equity capital markets transactions (Rule 144A/Reg S, IPOs, QIPs, block trades, bond issuances).
