Lead Software Engineer – Blockchain Security

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to strengthen its blockchain and distributed‑ledger security capabilities. You will join an agile cyber‑engineering team, collaborating with architecture, risk, and product stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy security monitoring controls focused on blockchain security.
• Build and maintain modern tooling using API‑first design, microservices and event‑driven patterns with strong resilience, performance and scalability requirements.
• Engineer CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, code quality checks, dependency and secrets scanning, and policy gates.
• Define and execute secure SDLC practices, including threat modeling, secure code review, vulnerability remediation and secure configuration standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate blockchain security telemetry and operational requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship through design and code reviews, and promote engineering best practices.
• Support production reliability via operational readiness, incident triage and continuous improvement.
• Conduct technical evaluations during proof‑of‑concept and vendor assessments, offering SME input on architecture and product decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience building security analytics platforms (e.g., Splunk) in a large‑scale enterprise.
• Strong command of a programming or scripting language for automation and integration tasks.
• Deep understanding of data ingestion, parsing and normalization within security analytics.
• Analytical mindset with proven problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience working in Agile teams and familiarity with common Agile frameworks.
• General knowledge of organizational cybersecurity practices, risk management, security architecture and engineering.
• Awareness of national and international laws, regulations, policies and ethics related to cybersecurity.
