Lecturer – Applied Artificial Intelligence (Computer Vision)

About the role

We are seeking a Lecturer in Applied Artificial Intelligence to join our School of Informatics & IT. The role involves delivering both face‑to‑face and online courses, focusing on practical Computer Vision applications.

Key responsibilities

• Teach full‑time and part‑time modules in AI and Computer Vision.
• Design, develop and update teaching materials, labs and assessments.
• Supervise student projects on deep learning for vision, visual recognition systems and multi‑modal AI.
• Evaluate assignments, provide constructive feedback and mentor students.
• Stay current with advances in Computer Vision, Machine Learning and AI.
• Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners on applied research projects.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in application development or AI, with proven expertise in Computer Vision.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching diverse learners.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Deep‑learning frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras.
• Open‑source Computer Vision libraries such as OpenCV.
• Experience with convolutional neural networks, object detection and image segmentation.
• Proficiency in at least two additional languages (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript).
