Legal Counsel – Commercial Litigation & Disputes (8-9 PQE)

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel with 8‑9 years of post‑qualification experience to join the in‑house legal team of a leading technology and digital commerce platform. The role focuses on managing complex commercial litigation and dispute matters across a fast‑moving, highly scaled business.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on a broad range of commercial litigation, disputes and contentious matters.
• Manage high‑value, multi‑jurisdictional disputes from assessment through to resolution.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop strategies that mitigate legal, commercial and reputational risk.
• Oversee litigation, arbitration and other dispute‑resolution processes.
• Instruct and manage external counsel across relevant jurisdictions.
• Provide pre‑litigation strategy, settlement negotiations and dispute‑avoidance advice.
• Review commercial agreements for heightened litigation risk and offer strategic input.
• Partner with the wider legal team and senior business leaders on sensitive matters.
• Support the development of internal dispute‑management processes and best practices.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with approximately 8–9 years PQE; exceptional candidates with slightly less experience may be considered.
• Outstanding academic credentials and strong technical legal capabilities.
• Significant commercial litigation and dispute‑resolution experience from a top‑tier international or leading disputes practice.
• Experience handling sophisticated, high‑value, multi‑jurisdictional commercial disputes.
• Strong litigation strategy, drafting and analytical abilities.
• Commercially minded with the ability to provide pragmatic, solutions‑oriented advice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, confident in advising senior leaders.
