Legal Counsel – Energy & Commodities

About the role

The company is a growing international business operating across Asia‑Pacific and is expanding its Singapore team. As a Legal Counsel – Energy & Commodities you will act as the sole in‑house lawyer for a broad portfolio of commercial and regulatory matters, supporting business units and senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice to business and corporate functions throughout the region.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documents.
• Support corporate transactions, strategic projects and investment activities.
• Advise on regulatory, compliance and governance issues across multiple jurisdictions.
• Identify and manage legal risks while enabling commercial objectives.
• Manage external counsel and coordinate additional legal support when required.
• Contribute to the development of internal policies, processes and best practices.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 3–6 years of post‑qualification experience in private practice and/or in‑house.
• Proven experience advising on commercial contracts and general corporate matters.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Commercially focused with the capacity to balance legal risk and business goals.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
• Experience with cross‑border matters in the Asia‑Pacific region is a plus.
