Materials Management Manager (M4)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Materials Management Manager (M4) to lead integrated planning and inventory control for its semiconductor and display equipment operations in Singapore. The role will drive cross‑functional processes that balance make‑vs‑buy decisions, capacity planning, and cost‑effective sourcing to support customer demand.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage a cross‑functional, fully integrated planning process covering make‑vs‑buy, capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, material and cost elements.
• Analyze customer demand, sales forecasts and historical material usage to create build‑to‑order and build‑to‑forecast plans.
• Coordinate with business teams to devise cost‑optimal production strategies that meet customer demand.
• Establish best practices for inventory forecasting, purchasing and material control systems.
• Manage production scheduling by monitoring inventories, tracking production progress and addressing schedule‑affecting factors.
• Ensure accurate inventory counts by collaborating with Finance and maintaining an inventory control system that identifies and corrects discrepancies.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to support business growth, managing supplier relationships to meet cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Implement supplier scorecard evaluation, monitoring and reporting.
• Work with quality, engineering, machining and assembly teams to achieve 100% on‑time delivery, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
