About the role
The Nurse Manager leads the clinical and operational functions of a ward or residential unit, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred care in rehabilitative or long‑term settings.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and governance for the unit, aligning practice with SNB Standards of Nursing Practice and HCSA regulations.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations, staffing, budgeting and resource allocation.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence‑based care tailored to community hospital, nursing home or long‑term care environments.
- Monitor performance metrics, drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Relevant advanced or specialist diploma (e.g., Gerontology, Palliative Care, Medical‑Surgical, Education) – preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in a community hospital or nursing home setting is advantageous.
