Principal Component Validation Engineer (HBM)

About the role

The Principal Component Validation Engineer (HBM) will lead silicon validation activities for high‑bandwidth memory (HBM) components within a global technology leader. You will work closely with design, manufacturing, quality and marketing teams to ensure that memory products meet performance and reliability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate internal and external teams to plan and execute silicon validation activities.
• Partner with manufacturing to secure required resources and equipment.
• Identify, evaluate, and validate HBM component validation equipment and test flows.
• Verify that silicon performance aligns with product specifications.
• Debug failures, determine root causes, and drive design or process corrections.
• Collaborate with Design Validation, Quality Assurance, and Global Quality on customer returns and reliability improvements.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and validate HBM component validation test programs.
• Review datasheets and provide feedback to Application Engineers.
• Prioritize tasks across multiple cross‑functional teams and provide technical leadership and mentoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least 10 years of experience in the memory semiconductor industry.
• Strong analytical, debugging and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Self‑motivated and effective in collaborative team environments.

Required skills

• Linux operating system.
• Python programming.
• C and C++ programming.
• Verilog and Universal Verification Methodology (UVM).
• Version control systems: Git, SVN.
• HBM architecture and operation.
• Test flow development, loopback testing, and validation coverage.
