Principal Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer to lead the design and implementation of automation testing strategies across a diverse portfolio of products, including web applications, HTML5 games, and backend services. The role involves building robust testing frameworks, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines, and mentoring junior QA engineers to ensure high software quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement automation testing strategies for web applications, HTML5/Web Canvas games, RESTful APIs, and backend services.
• Build and maintain automated testing frameworks tailored to product characteristics and business requirements.
• Develop automated tests covering UI, functional, regression, API, end‑to‑end, performance, and load testing.
• Create realistic performance testing scenarios and analyze system bottlenecks.
• Select appropriate testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies for each testing objective.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality assurance.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, DevOps engineers, and designers throughout the SDLC.
• Investigate production issues, improve test coverage based on root‑cause analysis, and continuously optimize testing efficiency.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and establish best practices for software quality.

Required profile

• 6+ years of hands‑on experience in software QA automation or test engineering.
• Proven track record of building test automation frameworks and continuous testing pipelines from scratch.
• Strong programming skills in at least one language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or Go.
• Solid understanding of modern software testing methodologies and automation design patterns.
• Hands‑on experience testing web applications, REST APIs, and browser‑based interactive applications.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
