Principal Software Engineer & Team Lead, Partner Systems & Integrations

About the role

As the Principal Engineer & Team Lead for Partner Systems & Integrations within Motional’s Fleet Software Platform in Singapore, you will guide a high‑performance engineering team that connects the autonomous‑vehicle fleet with global commercial partners. You will own the architectural strategy, B2B integration surfaces, and operational reliability of the partner‑facing ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow senior and staff software engineers, set quarterly OKRs and drive an inclusive engineering culture.
• Design, build and scale core ride‑hailing and fleet partner integration APIs, dispatch messaging, dynamic ODD synchronization and trip‑matching services.
• Enforce an API‑first architecture that isolates partner‑specific business logic in dedicated integration layers.
• Architect real‑time remote customer assistance, including multi‑camera video streaming, two‑way audio and remote vehicle command APIs.
• Implement enterprise‑grade observability, zero‑downtime deployments, incident automation and robust data‑security controls to meet 99.99 % SLA requirements.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison with external partner engineering teams, product, autonomy and operations groups.

Required profile

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field; 3+ years of people‑management experience.
• Deep expertise in building high‑throughput microservices using Golang and Python, event‑driven architectures, WebSockets/WebRTC and gRPC/REST APIs.
• Proven track record delivering mission‑critical B2B partner integrations or public‑facing API platforms with 99.99 % SLA.
• Strong background with AWS cloud‑native services (EKS/Kubernetes, ECS, Lambda, API Gateways, DynamoDB, Redis) and Infrastructure‑as‑Code.
• Experience designing secure systems that handle restricted PII data and driving technical road‑maps across cross‑functional teams.
