Principal Solution Architect (Singapore)

About the role

BeathChapman is investing heavily in its technology and engineering capability and seeks a Principal Solution Architect to define the architectural direction for building software at scale. This senior, organisation‑wide role will shape standards, platforms and engineering culture across cloud, private‑cloud and on‑premises environments.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business and executive priorities into multi‑year technology and architecture roadmaps.
• Define organisation‑wide architecture principles, reference architectures and blueprints for cloud, private‑cloud and on‑premises.
• Act as senior design authority for complex systems, including application architecture, microservices, APIs, integration, data flows and platform services.
• Establish engineering standards and governance (design reviews, code quality, secure SDLC) that maintain delivery speed.
• Build reusable frameworks, component libraries, CI/CD templates, IaC patterns and internal developer platforms.
• Mentor architects and senior engineers, raising overall engineering maturity.
• Lead R&D and proof‑of‑concepts on emerging technologies and translate findings into practical patterns.
• Advise senior leadership on architecture, investment and technology risk.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in solution architecture, software engineering and technology leadership.
• Proven track record designing and delivering large‑scale, mission‑critical systems.
• Deep hands‑on understanding of modern software architecture (cloud‑native, microservices, APIs, distributed systems).
• Experience defining architecture principles, engineering standards and governance at an organisational level.
• Strong grounding in Agile, DevSecOps and CI/CD across public cloud, private cloud and/or on‑premises environments.
• Experience building reusable frameworks, shared services or internal developer platforms.
• Solid background in security architecture and secure software engineering practices.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor senior engineers/architects and influence senior business and technology leaders.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
