Research Fellow – AI & Machine Learning in Ophthalmology

About the role

The National University of Singapore’s Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a Research Fellow to advance its data‑science initiatives. You will work closely with the Principal Investigator and a multidisciplinary team to develop AI‑driven solutions that improve the robustness and generalisation of medical imaging and diagnostic tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and evaluate deep‑learning and machine‑learning models for ophthalmic data.
• Manage project timelines, organise regular team meetings and ensure smooth collaboration across computational and clinical staff.
• Maintain high standards of documentation, record‑keeping and compliance with research policies.
• Provide administrative support for project reporting and grant deliverables.

Required profile

• PhD (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, Biomedical Informatics, Data Science or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a research team.
• Strong investigative mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
