Research Officer, Genomics

About the role

The clinical laboratory at MiRXES is seeking a Research Officer to support ultra‑high‑throughput sequencing projects, including precision‑medicine and population genomics initiatives. The successful candidate will apply molecular biology techniques and state‑of‑the‑art NGS workflows to generate high‑quality data for the general population.

Key responsibilities

• Receive training and operate ultra‑high‑throughput NGS sequencing workflows.
• Perform sample quality control, prepare sequencing libraries, and run sequencing runs.
• Analyze sequencing data and deliver timely reports.
• Troubleshoot processes and maintain thorough documentation.
• Collaborate with bioinformaticians and evaluate bioinformatics outputs.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Supervise and train junior staff and undertake ad‑hoc projects.
• Perform shift duties as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Life Sciences or related field, or Diploma with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Positive, proactive attitude and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to work shifts and collaborate in a team environment.
